Engineering Considerations

  •         Material Suitability – Isotropic magnets allow any direction of magnetization; anisotropic magnets must align with their preferred axis.
  •         Pole Pitch Accuracy – Down to sub-1mm for precision encoders and multi-track sensors.
  •         Cooling – Water or air cooling depending on duty cycle and energy level.
  •         Safety Interlocks – Prevent operation with incorrect settings, reducing the risk of under-magnetization.
  •         Integrated Testing – Search coils for real-time verification of field strength and pole accuracy.

Post-Assembly Magnetization

By magnetizing after assembly, you avoid the hazards and complexity of handling high-energy magnets during production. This approach is ideal for:

  • Rotor and stator assemblies in motors.
  • Large, high-energy permanent magnet assemblies.
  • Applications requiring skewed or complex pole arrangements.

Halbach Specialization

Halbach fixtures produce a concentrated magnetic field on one side of the magnet while canceling the field on the opposite side. Benefits include:

  • Reduced stray fields.
  • Lower cogging torque in motors.
  • Improved efficiency in applications sensitive to magnetic interference.

We can produce simple two-pole axial coils in varying sizes to best utilize the available energy of your magnetizer, depending on what material you are working with, or complex multipole / Halbach field distributions to create a specific magnet.
